On our second day in the Riviera, my mom and I decided that we wanted to squeeze in Cannes! It had been in our original plans, then moved off the list, then added back on once we saw how close all of the towns along the Riviera truly were to one another. So on our second morning in Nice, we hopped on a train and, 20 minutes later, found ourselves in Cannes!
It was an exciting time to be in Cannes! The film festival was starting that day, so all of the advertising was set up, along with the press tents (one for each country), credential check-points, and the red carpet!
My mom and I strolled along Cannes’ Promenade by the Palais des Festivals (where the film festival occurs) before going straight to the Palais des Festival. In one aspect, it was awesome to see everything all set up….but at the same time, the set-up meant that most of the beach views were blocked. The city was also much busier than Nice. There were cars everywhere and tons of people running around with credentials for the festival, which took a way a bit from the relaxing feel of being on the beach. Overall, my mom and I weren’t really that impressed (and very glad we were staying in Nice instead). Oh well! At least now I can technically say that I’ve been to the Cannes Film Festival haha.

After a few hours in Cannes, my mom and I were ready to move on. We hopped back on the train and off to Monte Carlo!
(Annnnd that was the quickest blog post I’ve ever managed! Go me!)
